Prior to the formation of Parallel, Mr. Citrin was a Director of Parallel Holdings where his responsibilities included due diligence and advisory services for special servicers and “B Piece” buyers on $5 billion in loans and the provision of advisory services to a private capital fund on the acquisition and servicing of B Notes and mezzanine loans.
Mr. Citrin was a director at Parallel Capital LLC, where he was responsible for origination, underwriting and closing conduit, mezzanine and equity financings as well as loan purchases. Transactions included all property types nationwide. Mr. Citrin led Parallel Capital’s CMBS bond advisory and surveillance group which worked on the acquisition and monitoring of $750 million of CMBS during the 1998 credit crisis.
Mr. Citrin started his real estate career at The Travelers Insurance Company in 1981, leaving as a Vice President and General Manager of the New York office with responsibility for all real estate investment activity in New York and Connecticut. Mr. Citrin managed a $1.7 billion mortgage portfolio, overseeing production, administration, budgeting and loan work-outs.
Mr. Citrin is a graduate of Brandeis University and holds an MBA from Cornell University. He has been an adjunct professor at New York University.
